111 Gala Dinner

On 1 November 2023, we celebrated the Libraries’ 111th anniversary with our 111 Dreams Gala Dinner! 🎉📚

Within our libraries, dreams have taken flight, minds have expanded, and discoveries have been made. It is fitting then, that the theme for this 111th anniversary is dreams. ☁️ 🌟

The event was attended by Professor Ian Holliday, Vice-President and Pro-vice-chancellor (Teaching and Learning), Flora Ng, CIO and University Librarian, and our accomplished dreamers, Professor Norman Ko, Mr. Basil Pao, and Mr. Wong How Man. 🌌

Speeches were also given by HKU students Adrian Yung, BSc student and Olympic skier, and Elkie Chan, MBBS student.

The dinner featured brilliant musical performances by HKU students Elkie Chan, Samuel Cheung, and Michelle Lee. 🎼

Let us reflect on the countless dreams that have been nurtured and realised within the libraries! 🙏📖
