Of Roots and Ways: Doming Lam Archive Exhibition 尋根與突破

After the passing of Dr. Doming Lam, the revered “Father of Hong Kong New Music,” his daughter, Miss Kathy Lam, generously donated his extensive archive to HKU Libraries' Special Collections. This collection includes drafts, letters, manuscripts, and photographs offering deep insights into Dr. Lam’s life and work. The Department of Music, Special Collections, and HKU MUSE collaborated to curate the "Of Roots and Ways: Doming Lam Archive Exhibition", which aims to showcase the selected treasures from his archive and the invaluable contributions of Dr. Doming Lam. A standout feature of the exhibition highlights carefully selected pages from Dr. Lam's meticulously crafted albums. Filled with precious photographs, press clippings, and his personal annotations, these albums serve as a gateway to the past, providing readers with a vivid experience of Dr. Lam's significant life events. They represent invaluable firsthand accounts with profound historical and biographical significance.

香港大學圖書館特藏部獲林家琦小姐慷慨捐贈林樂培博士的珍貴遺物，特此攜手港大音樂系及港大繆思樂季籌辦「尋根與突破：林樂培檔案展覽」，旨在展示香港新音樂之父林樂培博士的寶貴貢獻。展覽將通過展示其遺物中的部分精品，包括草稿、信件、手稿和照片和其他寶貴的物品等了解林博士生平和藝術成就的重要資料，讓公眾一窺其非凡的生平和藝術成就。港展覽的一大亮點是林博士精心製作的幾本相冊中的精選頁面。這些相冊包括大量寶貴的照片、剪報，以及林博士的親筆註解，猶如打開一扇時光之門，讓讀者親歷其境感受林博士珍而重之的生平事件，是極具歷史及傳記意義的第一手資料。
